Description

Perform a range of functions in support of Category Management such as competitive market research, customer service monitoring, market assessments and program evaluation activities for assigned product lines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform and maintain regular retail price shops
  • Develop and maintain a thorough analysis of all identified and new competitors
  • Source products and components for new product
  • Accurately and efficiently track, follow-up on and manage all assigned and approved new product development projects from concept to completion
  • Develop and maintain competitive interchanges where applicable
  • Provide critiques and SWOTS on customers' and prospects' POGs
  • Management and interpretation of market data
  • Work with channel, category management, sales and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies to land new customers
  • Develop and provide a presentation deck to the sales team with the necessary technical, market and competitive expertise to enable them to successfully sell the product
  • Provide support for the Category Management team as needed
  • Develop understanding of products, systems and processes to assume greater responsibilities in the future

Required Education/Experience

  • Associate's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Minimum two years' experience in marketing, product development, and/or sales
  • Industrial distribution, automotive aftermarket or retail experience preferred

  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, internet & databases)

  • Acceptable driving record and valid driver's license/proof of insurance

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for long periods of time (6+ hours per day)
  • Viewing computer screen for majority of the work day
  • Dexterity to successfully operate office machines (PC, phone, fax, copier, scanner)
  • Ability to maneuver around the office when necessary
  • Ability to travel to customer locations, trade shows and other events as needed (up to 25%)
