Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:
Create new/ Update existing manufacturing process documentation, e.g., tooling lists, setup requirements, operations sequence for manufacturing, standard work, operator performed maintenance
Analyze requirements and make recommendations for assembly/machining process improvement, training, equipment needs
Provide engineering support to NPI Assembly/Machining groups. Provide support to introduction process of new parts
Responsible for process CI (Continuous improvement) cards
Work with vendors to purchase items needed for manufacturing, e.g., tooling, gages, etc.
Conduct standard work audits
Evaluate and recommend changes to existing manufacturing practices in terms of work simplification, process optimization, cost reduction, quality improvement, plant layout and method improvements
Create and maintain Perform PFMEAs, SFMEAs, Control Plans
Support design-for-assembly/manufacturability (DFA/DFM) projects and initiatives
Main point of contact for quality, shop floor and customers
Input deviations from non-conforming material to engineering
Manage/Follow test lots through value streams for exit inspections/capability studies
Champion PPM and scrap reduction
Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues including: ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns
Foster and ensure operations safety at all times. Conduct safety risk assessments
Work with internal/external customers and partners to plan, execute and manage projects
Coordinate with Operations to define best practices and resolve complex manufacturing issues
Work with operations, tool design, programmers, engineers etc. to ensure proper development, implementation and support of engineering activities
Provide technical and analytical support as needed. Provide guidance and make critical decisions
Train operators on the standard work and develop training programs
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or similar field is required
Must have 2+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry
Basic knowledge of processing (machining/assembly ops), fixture design, and programming is required, experience preferred
Must have good blueprint reading skills and experience with GD&T
Analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
High energy and a demonstrated ability to implement and get results are essential
Detail oriented with troubleshooting and project leadership skills
Strong ability to handle a high workload and manage priorities is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Must be self-directed, self-starter, and be able to multi-task and prioritize
Must enjoy working in a team environment, and have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
