Responsibilities include:

  • Determine source of supply for parts and coordinate effective dates with other plants.
  • Resolves problems between Releasing and Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, Materials, and other plants.
  • Works with these departments on material availability and discrepancies.
  • Closes out Engineering Changes in Releasing, and assigns and maintains job numbers for new models, Engineering Changes, and Manufacturing Changes.
  • Analyzes and resolves any grief because of system updates.
  • Works with Engineering to set up new product or changes to product and works daily with Data Processing and Scheduling to get information on job dates and runs.
  • Engages in creative problem solving to address operational issues including: ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns.
  • Analyze and investigate shop problems and follow up on recommendations.
  • Participates with engineers to provide timely release and implementation of new models, major product updates and miscellaneous changes.
  • Follows progress of major releases and changes and provides guidance to resolve problems.
  • To maintain and improve processes in an assigned production area.
  • Address problems in processing, programming, tool design, standards development and application, acquisition of tools and equipment, layout, processing, and /or automated storage systems, etc
  • Coordinate Engineering releasing activities between Engineering design areas and procurement/scheduling


  • Manufacturing / Production / Mechanical engineering degree
  • Must have the ability do statistical analysis and have proficient excel skills (VBA Programming)
  • Requires 3-5 years' experience or equivalent knowledge of Releasing and Planning operations and systems
  • Must have knowledge of product structure, lead times, processing capabilities, and be able to operate a personal computer and read blue prints
  • Must have experience with component machining and assembly, materials systems and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, good interpersonal skills
