Job description

This role will partner with plant management, engineering, and procurement to implement cost accounting methods and procedures to improve bill of material accuracy and costing of products. This roll will be responsible for preparation and analysis of cost reports and inventory accounts. The individual should have an eye towards continuous improvement, leveraging technology and other solutions to automate and scale our processes to enable strategic decisions. The individual must possess excellent critical thinking skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and possess an attention to detail.


  • Partner with operations to improve plant financial performance and reduce variances
  • Work on shop floor several hours a day with Purchasing/Manufacturing/Engineering
  • Work with operations to capture and drive productivity savings
  • Prepare operations variance analysis to standard and ad hoc reports to assist in the determination of profitability
  • Analyze and set material and other standard costs
  • Analyze, prepare and maintain annual manufacturing standard rates
  • Analyze variable costs and make appropriate budget adjustments
  • Validate cost and pricing information for contracts and update as required
  • Analyze headcount and related benefit expenses
  • Analyze operations including interpreting and communicating cost and expense variances to management
  • Participate in a critical role with month-end accounting close including journal entry preparation, inventory reconciliation, other account reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist in preparation of capital expenditure justification and payback analysis
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years of directly related Finance experience within a manufacturing/supply chain organization
  • Strong attention to detail with proven capabilities in handling multiple priorities
  • Strong Excel Skills, Microsoft office suite
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, problem-solving abilities, collaborative and with sound judgement
