Position Summary
Perform duties required to paint and inspect parts

Prepare paint area for operation, such as: turn main power on for washer system, dry off oven, curing oven, fans, pumps, test chemical levels in washer system using test kit, add chemicals as needed, etc.
Use daily dispatch report and blueprint to locate and collect parts
Prepare parts for paint by masking, plugging holes, etc.
Determine requirements by reading part blueprints
Follow all required ISO procedures
Mix primer in paint pot if needed on auto line.
Inspect parts visually for scratches, inks, rust, improper masking, etc.
Organize and load parts onto hooks or fixtures
Inspect parts visually after parts are out of dry off oven for rust, foreign substances, etc. Remove with scotch-brite pad and solvent
Blow off any excess water present
Paint parts with primer and finish coat (both manual booth and auto-line) as required by engineering and quality assurance
Adjust gun pressure as required
Inspect parts visually after finish coat for runs, "fish eyes", paint coverage, etc.
Check air lines, washers, add additives as required, if problems exist
Remove parts from hooks, remove masking, protect parts with foam, paper, etc. and position parts onto carts, racks, etc. move parts to next work center
Check paint viscosity with a viscosity cup
Apply primer coat, sand primer coat and apply finish coat to parts in the manual booth
Maintain area and equipment: change paint drums, booth filters, light covers, time saver machine filters, etc. as required. Drain, clean and recharge washer system as needed. Replace air lines, tear down paint guns, clean and rebuild
Operate burn off oven to remove excess paint from hanging fixtures and hooks
Strip excess paint off paint booth walls and apply coat of peel-filmite or equivalent coating
Maintain proper operation of Pro-mix paint mixing system. Adjust ratios for specific paints
Inspect parts randomly for mil thickness, gloss, etc., with took gauge, gloss meter, etc.

Demonstrated ability to meet Mark Andy paint finish requirements
High attention to detail
Ability to inspect parts
Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function of the position.

Education/Experience Required
High School Degree or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive or similar applications

Coverage during certain periods.

Work Environment
Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility's production floor or customer's production environment.

Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer's facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
