Job Description

CDG is hiring a degreed engineer for a permanent position in its Electrical Department. Successful applicant will be responsible for independently and collaboratively solving electrical engineering problems for CDG's clients. Typical projects include Arc Flash assessments, design for low to medium voltage electrical systems (switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and panels, wire and conduit routing) for industrial systems, lighting design, controls design and programming, construction support and management, and project management. CDG is known for solving some of the most complex problems in challenging environments and our staff is expected to regularly engage in high level problem solving to enable our clients to be successful.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer license required, or ability to obtain license.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience required.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one core area of:
  • power plant or heavy industrial processes and equipment
  • automation
  • system relaying
  • substation and distribution design
  • system generation planning
• Working ability with AutoCAD or similar design tools preferred.
• Working ability with SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling program preferred.
• Working knowledge of PLC or DCS systems
• Working knowledge of electric utility industry and environmental issues
• Excellent oral and written communications skills with a demonstrated ability to simplify technical issues.
• Willingness to travel, as required, which could be up to 25% of time (possession of a valid driver's license or ability to obtain).
• Must be able to demonstrate that s/he can perform all of the essential functions of the position.
